CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
ASHTANGA VINYASA - Primary Series
This style of yoga, also known as
Power Yoga,  builds endurance, strength and stamina as well as
flexibility.  The practice is based on the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga taught in Mysore, India
with some modifications for beginners. Come prepared  to be challenged and to sweat.

RESTORATIVE YOGA
The focus is on opening up the body through deep relaxation and the breath.  Postures are held for
extended lengths of time with the aid of props and
some gentle hands on adjustments.  Soft music
and candle light  help create an atmosphere of soothing serenity  that leave
s you feeling refreshed
and restored.  Ideal for recovering from
stress, injuries and illness.

THE IYENGAR METHOD
In this class the meaning of proper alignment and concentration is explored; important knowledge
that establishes a strong foundation for all forms of yoga and other physical activities.  Emphasis is
placed on stretching and lengthening the spine.

HATHA FLOW
Traditional hatha asanas when merged with the breath create a flow of energy that expresses itself
in movement.  Each flow class is different in that it originates  out of the present and responds
intuitively to what is precisely needed at that moment.

PRIVATE CLASSES
Private classes are an excellent way to deepen one's practice or meet specific fitness goals. They
can introduce new students to yoga basics within a safe environment until they feel comfortable
enough to enter a group class.  Yoga Therapy can help with deeper healing and recovery from illness
or injury, resolve health issues or assist with special conditions such as pregnancy, fertility,
menopause, back-aches, insomnia, to name only a few.
Yoga works for many different types of bodies at many different stages in life and for each person's many different
moods. While for some a Power Yoga class may seem like the way to go, for others a gentle Restorative Yoga class may
be optimal. Then again, for some people their needs change on a daily basis....
